This page explains what personal data Tribeup Academy collects when you use tribeupacademy.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Tribeup Academy (Reg. No.: 201603225787) is run by Jason Gan from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. For anything about your data, email academy@tribeup.my.
What we collect
Information you give us:
- Your name, email address and the answers you give when you apply for coaching or fill in a form (collected through JotForm).
- Your name and email address when you sign up for a free guide or our emails (collected through MailerLite).
- Your name, email address and booking details when you book a call or session (collected through TidyCal).
- Payment details when you pay for a session. Payments are handled by our booking and payment providers (such as PayPal and Stripe). We never see or store your full card details.
- Your name and email address when you join a free training or course hosted on systeme.io.
- Anything you send us by email or share during a call, such as your ad account data, if you choose to share it.
Information collected automatically:
- How you use the site, such as pages visited, device, browser and approximate location, through Google Analytics 4.
- Visits and actions on the site (for example viewing a page, signing up or booking) through the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API, and through the Google Ads tag. We use these to measure our ads and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site.
- Technical data such as your IP address, used to keep the site secure and to block spam and login attacks.
How we use it
- To reply to you and run the coaching, sessions or training you asked for.
- To send you the emails you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To measure and improve our advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google.
- To keep the site secure and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We collect and use your data with your consent, to deliver a service you asked for, or where we have a legitimate interest such as security and improving our services. This follows Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and, for visitors in the EU and UK, the GDPR.
Cookies and tracking
The site uses cookies and similar tools from Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta (Pixel). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage ads you see in your Meta ad preferences and Google ad settings.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that help us run Tribeup Academy, and only as much as they need:
- JotForm (forms), MailerLite (email), TidyCal (bookings), systeme.io (courses and free training)
- PayPal and Stripe (payments)
- Google (Analytics, Ads) and Meta (Pixel, Conversions API)
- Zoom (coaching calls)
- Our web host, which stores the website and its data
Some of these services store data outside Malaysia, including in the United States and the EU. We use providers that protect personal data to recognised standards.
How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we need it for the reason it was collected. Email subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe. Records we must keep for tax or accounting are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can withdraw your consent to emails at any time with the unsubscribe link. To make a request, email academy@tribeup.my and we’ll reply within 21 days.
Children
Our services are for business owners and are not aimed at anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the tools we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
